Band AGM 2025

On May 01st, 2025, the band held its AGM, which was very well attended by players, volunteers, and guest attendees.

Every year, we send our thanks and gratitude to the supporters who come to watch us play, send kind words, donate to the education and learning within the band and help us represent our local community while continuing the 90+ year history of SACPB.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way, it's much appreciated. 

The officers elected for the year ahead are:
  • Pipe Major - Sally-Anne Richter
  • Pipe Sergeant - Jared Brockman
  • Drum Major - Nick Haysom
  • Drum Sergeant - Michelle Haysom
  • Drum Corporal - David Crack
  • President - Peter Scales
  • Secretary - Suze Males
  • Treasurer - Grant Todd

Each year at the AGM, the band presents awards to members who go above and beyond in their commitment to the band and their fellow players.

This year's awards were presented to the following.
  • The Groeneveld and Schindler Award for Practice Attendance - Presented by Drum Major Nick Haysom to Piper Sharon Wright.
  • The Alan McDonald Sheild for Parade Attendance - Presented by Drum Major Nick Haysom to Snare Drummers Liam Nicholson and Maddy Etherington.
  • The James Swan Memorial Shield for Dress, Drill and Discipline - Presented by Drum Major Nick Haysom to Piper Max Goodenough.
  • The John Hopkins Memorial Trophy for Most Dedicated Drummer - Presented by Drum Major Nick Haysom to Snare Drummer John Donaldson (JD).
  • The Bob McKenzie Award for Most Dedicated Piper - Presented by Pipe Major Sally-Anne Richter and Margaret East OAM (Bob McKenzie’s Daughter) To Piper David Doyle.

  • The Malcolm Murray Shield for Best Band Person - (as voted by only playing members)  Presented by President Peter Scales to Piper David Doyle
The Anonymous Benefactor’s Awards for Most Improved Player -
  • Piper presented by Pipe Major Sally-Anne Richter to Piper Sharon Wright.
  • Drummer presented by Drum Major Nick Haysom to Tenor Drummer Angela Guest.
